KCK native has day to remember at T-Bones

   His first day in the pros was a day to remember for Beau Stoker.

   The 2009 graduate of Bishop Ward High School played his first game for the Kansas City T-Bones on Thursday, May 17, hitting a homer, double and single as a designated hitter, and scoring runs three times.

   “It was an awesome night for me,” Stoker said on Friday afternoon. 

   His friends and family, including wife and son, were at the game.

   Just a few months ago, Stoker had no idea that he would get back into baseball.

Arkansas City High School baseball team posts midweek sweep

City preps eye regional competitions

All seven city schools will be involved in regional competition this week, including boys golf, baseball, softball, girls soccer and boys and girls track and field.

Golf regionals are scheduled for Monday with Topeka High and Washburn Rural competing in a Class 6A regional at Sim Park in Wichita, Seaman, Shawnee Heights and Topeka West in a 5A regional at Emporia Municipal and Hayden in a 4A regional at Sunflower Hills in Bonner Springs.
